Day 01: After being picked up from your place of stay drive to Taxila, which is enroute to Swat. Sir John Marshal excavated Taxila between 1913 & 1939, and this Buddhist site is known as an archeological paradise of the Buddhist period and includes the remains of three cities, Buddhist monasteries and Stupas.  The History of Taxila spans over almost 1000 years (6th Century BC to 5th century AD). Visit Taxila Museum,  Bhir Mound (600 BC city remains),  Dharmarajika Stupa from the Ashoka perio ( 3rd Cent. BC) and Sirkap (2nd  century BC remains of Bactrian Greek city) After sightseeing Taxila, proceed to Swat.  The Swat valley is easily reached by road from Taxila. However it is necessary to pass through the mouth of the Peshawar valley. One has to follow the GT Road or Motor way to Mardan and then head North to Takht –i–Bahi, Dargai, Malakand Pass, Chakdara, Butkhela and Saidu Sharif. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 02. After having breakfast begin your sightseeing tour of Swat including the Swat Museum, established in 1959 by the Wali-e-Swat.  Its display was redesigned in the early 1990s by the Japanese and is one of the finest examplesof Buddhist art in the country. Beside Buddhist Art, the museum also houses an  ethnological collection and some proto-historic remains. From the museum, visit famous archaeological sites of Butkara I, and Saidu Stupa. Another 4 km away one reaches Ghaligai Rock Buddhas, facing the river Swat. In the afternoon, we will visit Mingora Bazzar, which is the commercial center worth visiting as Swat is famous for its embroidered textiles, wood work and for its semi-precious stones, such as emeralds and rubies. Then continue to Murghzar where you will behold the old white palace constructed from white marble and adorned with ornate carvings. Return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 03/4:  Over the next two days, proceed for day excursions of Malam Jabba, the newly rebuilt ski resort situated 45 kilometers north east of Mingora and open to the public.  A Buddhist stupa and monastery is 15 minutes walk away. There are two trekking trails near Malam Jabba, one passes through Ghorband valley and the other to Shangla top. At 3000m, the views of swat valley and east to Karakorum are excellent. After a full day activity including skiing or ice-skating return to your hotel in Mingora/Saidu Sharif for overnight.

Day 05: After a relaxed breakfast check out from the hotel for your return to Islamabad. On the way make a short stop at Takht-e-Bahi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Takht means (throne) and Bahi means (water) in Persian/Urdu. The monastic complex was called Takht-e-Bahi because it was built atop oh hill and also adjacent to a stream. Visit the unique stupa and monastic site which is a short climb uphill. After visiting Takht-e-Bhai continue your drive to Islamabad.
